With that being said whens the last time you watched a bowfin tourny on TV or whens the last time you entered a fishing comp in real life that wasn't about catching: Or the game would just turn into a bottom fishing simulator as you would flip the script to all the garbage bottom feeders that tend to weigh more become more valuable then the sport fish!!! However a trophy Bowfin of the same ratio too the size of a Trophy Gar should. Why should a non trophy 7 lb bowfin reward the same as a Trophy Largemouth. Originally posted by dukeof3arl:If I catch a 7lb bowfin, I should be rewarded the same as catching a trophy 7lb largemouth. So what I'm proposing is that everything over 12 lbs hits a diminishing scale per lb to level off the additive scale reward system. With that being said, I obviously know there should be a cap to this. If I catch a 7lb bowfin, I should be rewarded the same as catching a trophy 7lb largemouth. That leaves a good 50% of the species or more that literally are a waste to catch and keep. To gain ground and progress nicely, I need to be targeting fish with at least 67% or higher credit return per lb. All that does is make people target certain fish - which is how you get a monotonous feeling of impending doom because you can't target anything else with the economy the way it is. Why is it that only pike, walleye, and a couple others are so rewarding? Why is it that when I catch a 4.0 lb bowfin, I'm credited with less than 30% return on poundage? What is the purpose of that? Why are the XP rewards so wildly different? It should all scale on lb/kg caught and not the type of fish that was caught. It feels a lot like pre 0.7.0 because the same target fish are still preferable. There is a certain feeling of monotony now because of the way the reward system is set up.
